About

Beast Training, established in 2017, has worked with over 100 players in Vigo County and its surrounding areas. It has collaborated with various schools, communities, and AAU programs.

In 2018, Beast Training held its first Christmas giveaway at the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club, providing support for over 100 families through food, gifts, and other essentials. In 2019, the organization held a book bag giveaway at Basler’s Grocery Market, supplying 150 children with school backpacks and supplies. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, Beast Training managed to stay open and held its first AAU tournament for 3rd and 4th graders, attracting 7 teams, including the nationally ranked 2028 G3 basketball team.

In 2021, Beast Training hosted its first adult rec league “Midnight Madness,” a 8-week event with 10 teams held at the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club. Additionally, the organization held its second Christmas giveaway at Phoenix Elite Gym, benefiting 100 children. In 2022, Beast Training launched its sports performance classes every Wednesday at Phoenix Elite Gym, and opened its online merchandise store, Beastwaymerch.com.

Furthermore, the organization held a free one-day sports performance class during spring break and its first-ever Blacktop camp at Spencer Ball Park, attracting 189 children for a week of activities.

About The CEO

DJ Shouse has been passionate about basketball since he was a young boy growing up in Terre Haute, IN, the youngest of five children born to Debbie and Darrell Shouse Sr. He has played the game at the high school, college, and semi-pro level, and has been featured in many different pro leagues throughout Indiana, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.

Throughout his career, DJ has experienced success and setbacks, but he has always kept his commitment to the game. Now, as an adult, DJ is using basketball as a way to make a positive impact on his community and the world. His dedication to the sport is undeniable and inspiring.
