Craig Porter Jr., a graduate of Wichita State, saw his NBA dream come to life. Emotions ran high as he agreed to a two-way contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers following the conclusion of the NBA Draft. For the Terre Haute, Ind. native, there had been a glimmer of hope that his name might be called in the late second round. However, securing a two-way contract was the next-best thing to being drafted—a remarkable achievement.

Two-way contracts provide a unique opportunity for players like Porter. They allow NBA teams to seamlessly move players between the main roster and their G League affiliate throughout the season. Essentially, it enables teams to keep undrafted players under their wing, nurturing their talent without committing to a full-time contract. With fewer than four years of NBA experience, Porter was eligible for this incredible opportunity, and he embraced it with gratitude and determination.

Although it is probable that Porter will begin his professional career playing for the Cavaliers' G League team, the Cleveland Charge, there is also the chance that he could grace the NBA court for up to 50 games under his two-way contract.
